In what the American's term junior high school my pals and I would decorate all the old pages in our school diaries; we would really go to town; those A5 books were true works of art. I loved it but unfortunately never kept any of those old diaries/planners so can't share pictures with you here let alone look back myself. I kept up with it, especially when I was traveling when I was 24. It's such a great way of being creative and journaling with a book that's always in use. I had no idea then and honestly it has only just been revealed to me that I am a planner nerd! Totally behind the 8 ball on this one! ;) When I started scrapbooking my family pictures (I laugh writing this because I am so lame at scrapbooking really) but also being a song-writer, a picture-taker and a sometimes-crafter I stopped jazzing up my yearly planner. I still kept journals and have lots of half-finished books for all sorts of things. Anyway, this week I discoverd Letters In November on Instagram, discovered the term planner nerd and fell down the rabbit hole that is the planner nerd hashtag... #plannernerd. I am not only LOVING checking out all the pictures of my fellow stationary lovers but it has inspired me to show off the planner that I had put together in preparation for this year.
I think I would love to amalgamate my journalling, my art dairy, my Instagram prints and my yearly planning into one book, my planner! I just feel this will make more sense for me creatively and keep my feeling a bit more organised with memory keeping. I'm still keen to keep our family photo albums going but right now I have too many books on the go for different things and it's probably the main reason I'm falling behind with all of my... STUFF! |
